I would have been more comfortable had the phlebotomist taking my blood samples today worn gloves. If she didnt wear them with me then it makes me question whether this is common practice for her. I am nervous giving blood so it didnt register with me til afterwards but now that i have thought about it I dont feel it was hygenic. Next time I will be sure to make a point of checking and if necessary asking her to glove up. Quite a serious overlook to me.

I rang to confirm an appointment for my son who has had mental health breakdown and twice the receptionist hung up and third time I rang spoke to Elizabeth who wouldn’t tell me the name of the person and continuously would twist everything I said to suit what she wanted to tell me. My son has/ had an appointment with a named doctor but he doesn’t remember and was too anxious to speak on the phone. So it means he has been refused treatment just because he couldn’t come to the phone to ask this himself.

I have been a patient of Whickham Practice for the past 40 years, and have always found the Drs. Nurses and Reception.staff, very professional and helpful, but can be difficult, to get appointments at times. I have always found Dr Kirk to be very caring and helpful, and listens to me.and explains everything.

My wife noticed my 99 year old mother had swollen, red leg. She was reluctant to bother a doctor but my wife insisted. My mother phoned about 2pm, Dr Porter visited and she had an antibiotic by 5pm. Brilliant.

My son has asthma, and woke up with a chest infection this morn, he managed to go to work, but felt ill through the morning, I phoned the practice at 11.30, was advised to phone back in an hour, I did and got through to receptionist, Jayne, who was extremely helpful and managed to get my son an appointment at 4.30, I want to say thankyou to Jayne, for her efficient, professional, attitude, he needed to be seen the same day and he was. Thankyou
